LeT overground worker arrested

Police today arrested an overground worker of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit from Handwara area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district and unearthed two hideouts at his instance.

"Acting on a specific information, police arrested Affaq Ahmad Bhat alias Abu Huraira, a resident of Panditpura in Handwara area," a police spokesman said.

He said Bhat was an overground worker of LeT and involved in providing logistic support to Abu Maaz of LeT.

"Police also busted two hideouts maintained by Bhat. Huge cache of ammunition including a pistol, two pistol magazines, 11 pistol rounds, two wireless sets, four mobile sets, a UBGL thrower, a UBGL Grenade, two AK magazines, 105 AK rounds, two compass, one binocular, one Wire cutter and other war-like stores were recovered," the spokesman said.
