Lakme Fashion Week's Summer/Resort 2017 edition is scheduled to take place from February 1 to 5 at JioGarden, Bandra-Kurla Complex here.

The fashion extravaganza has changed the venue with an aim to offer a wider canvas to the designers.

"At Lakme Fashion Week, we aim to reinvent the platform every season. This Summer/Resort 2017 edition, we are taking it to an innovative venue at BKC. At JioGarden, we intend to use the open expanse to bring alive a whole new fashion week experience," Purnima Lamba, Head of Fashion, Lakme said in a statement.

With the new location the fashion week also hopes to give a bigger business platform, as more labels will be putting up their collections giving buyers a large variety to choose from.

"The move to Jio Garden reaffirms our commitment to the business of fashion with a larger area for buyers and designers to interface. Everything this season will be bigger and further push the boundaries of what a fashion event can achieve," Jaspreet Chandok, Head-Fashion, IMG Reliance Ltd said.
