Lt Governor Kiran Bedi today said the gross state domestic product (GSDP) of Puducherry would go up in the coming years with people-centric and effective governance.
During her address to the Assembly on the opening day of budget session today said the GSDP of the union territory was estimated at Rs 29,557.38 crores for the fiscal 2016-2017.
Later in the day, she said in a tweet: "This (GSDP) would be more in the coming years with good, grass roots-level participative, people centric and effective governance."

Bedi had been stressing the need for revival of elected bodies at the grass-roots level on most of the occasions.
At present all municipalities and commune panchayats here are being administered by special officers as the term of office of elected civic bodies ended in 2011.
