LG notifies 'Approving Authority' for transfer of officers

Lt Governor Najeeb Jung has notified the 'Approving Authority' for transfer and posting of different category of employees, including IAS and DANICS officers, working with the Delhi government.

According to the order issued by the Services Department after the LG's approval, the Lt Governor will be the authority for transfer and posting of IAS, DANICS (Delhi, Andaman Nicobar Island Civil Service) officers, all-India service officers and equivalent officers of central civil services.

The move comes amid the ongoing tussle between the Centre and the AAP government on transfer and posting of officers.

Jung has transferred several officers of the Delhi government including PWD Secretary, Health Secretary, Delhi Assembly Secretary, Environment Secretary, Transport Secretary.
 

The order also said that the Chief Secretary will be the Approving Authority for transfer and posting of DASS Grade I/II officials, private secretaries and senior personal assistants.

"For transfer and posting of DASS Grade III/IV and Grade II/III (Stenographer), LG has appointed Secretary (Services) as the Approving Authority while administrative Secretary/Head of Department will look after transfer and posting of other employees of cadre/ex-cadre within the department concerned," an official said.
