Jammu and Kashmir government today said liabilities at various treasuries of the state crossed the Rs 2661 crore mark earlier this month.
"The liabilities at various treasuries of Jammu and Kashmir state are to the tune of Rs 2661.43 crore as on 16th of March, 2015," Minister for Finance, Haseeb Drabu, said in a written reply to the question of PDP member Choudhary Qamar Hussain in state Legislative Assembly today.
Giving further details, he said Rs 1514.05 crore are pending liabilities on March 16 in the treasuries in Jammu region and Rs 704.34 crore in treasuries of Kashmir region, Rs 442.04 crore in Civil Secretariat treasury and Rs 0.99 crore at treasury in New Delhi.
The highest liability among the districts is in Jammu at Rs 1268.55 crore, followed by Srinagar with Rs 270.13 crore, he said.
