The land of the tribal Thar and Uraon communities have been forcibly acquired for the Valmikinagar Tiger Project and the local people forced to leave elsewhere, including Nepal, for livelihood, CPI(M-L) Liberation leader Kunal said in a statement.

The tribal and local people were faced with the prospect of de-settlement and relocation as the villages under Gaunaha, Ramnagar, Mantand and Bagaha blocks have been fenced for the project, he said.

The district administration has stopped construction of roads, schools, houses under the Indira Awas Yojana and electrification in view of expansion of the wildlife project, the Liberation leader said.
