LIC holding in HDFC crosses 5%

Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has raised its stake in largest mortgage firm HDFC to over 5 per cent.

LIC has purchased 10 lakh shares or 0.063 per cent from the open market, HDFC said in a regulatory filing.

Following the fresh purchase, the LIC stake rose to 5.019 per cent.

The shares were purchased on April 7.

Shares of HDFC closed at Rs 1,072.65 on April 7, so LIC would have bought the shares worth Rs 107.20 crore.
