The Calcutta High Court today ordered LIC to conduct its exam for absorption of casual employees with the help of Army and the police.
LIC had told the court that after opposition from labour union INTUC, they were not able to conduct their exam in Asansol town of West Bengal.
Hearing the plea, Justice Sanjib Banerjee ordered that LIC would conduct its exam with the assistance from the Army and the police on a suitable date.

Casual employees who have worked for more than five years were eligible to sit for the exam.
The insurance company also told the court that they were not able to run five offices because of security issues, after which the judge ordered the district SP to ensure adequate security.
