Life convict jumps parole

A 37-year-old life convict has jumped parole, prompting the police to launch a search for him.

C John Peter, sentenced to life in a murder case, was released on parole for three days on September 25 from the Madurai Central Prison to visit his ailing mother, police said.

He should have returned to the prison on September 28 but he did not do so following which the jail officials today lodged a complaint with police.

A case had been registered based on the complaint and police were looking out for Peter.
