Life imprisonment for two for murder

A court here has sentenced two persons to life imprisonment after holding them guilty of murdering a man in 2012 here.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Basruddin also slapped a fine of Rs one lakh each on both the accused in his yesterday's verdict.

The court also directed the convicts-- Puran Mal alias Tundia and Nagina Valmiki to pay 95 per cent of the fine to the family of the deceased as compensation.

According to the prosecution, 50-year-old Pala Ram worked as a drummer in marriage functions. He was shot dead by Puran Mal with a country-made pistol after some alternation on August 3, 2012.
 

Kela Devi, wife of Pala Ram and her relative Mange Ram reached the spot after the incident and took Pala Ram to Government Hospital Adampur in serious condition. The doctors referred him to Hisar. On his way to Hisar, Pala Ram died.

On a complaint of Kela Devi, a case under Sections 302(murder), 120 B(criminal conspiracy) and Arms Act was registered against Nagina Valmiki and Puran Mal in Adampur police station on August 3, 2012.
