Life imprisonment to seven for Youth's murder

A local court has sentenced seven persons to life imprisonment for murdering a youth eight years ago.

According to the government prosecutor, Rajendra Prasad, the Additional District Judge sentenced the seven accused to life imprisonment on the basis of a statement given by two eye witnesses.

As two of the accused are juvenile, they are being tried by the juvenile court.

Ashish Tripathi, brother of a student leader, was killed on June 30, 2005, over an old enmity by Rohit Gupta, Srikrishna Tiwari, Ravi Rajput, Surender Sachan, Vinay Tiwari, Sunil Mishra and Aamir Khan.

Ashish, who lived in Keshav Nagar, was taken to a secluded place by the convicts on the pretext of some work and attacked with a crude bomb.
