'Life Of Pi', 'Brave' big winners at VES awards

Ang Lee's "Life Of Pi" and animated movie "Brave" each took home four trophies at the 11th annual VES (Visual Effects Society) Awards. The team that created the visual effects - including a photo real CG Bengal tiger - for Lee's 3D movie won four awards, including the top prize for outstanding visual effects in a visual effects-driven feature. "Brave" also took home four awards at the ceremony. During the ceremony, Lee was presented the VES Visionary Award by visual effects pro Dennis Muren of "Star Wars" fame. Additional feature winners included "The Avengers" with two awards, "The Impossible" and "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" with one award each, said the Hollywood Reporter. HBO's "Game of Thrones" dominated the TV categories, winning a total of four awards. Actor Harrison Ford presented effects legend Richard Edlund of "Star Wars" with the society's Lifetime Achievement Award.
