Life sentence for four convicts in 8-yr-old murder case

A court in Bihar's Darbhanga district today convicted four members of a family to rigorous life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 4,000 on each after finding them guilty in an eight-year-old murder case.

The Ad Hoc Additional District and Sessions judge NK Tiwari passed the order convicting Ramanand Yadav and Binda Devi (parents), Santosh Yadav (brother) and Vijay Yadav (cousin) to rigorous life imprisonment and imposed the fine after finding them guilty in the murder case of Uday Yadav.

According to Public Prosecutor Vijay Kumar Singh, Yadav was poisoned to death at his native village Bijuli under Sadar police station area on April 1, 2006 by his family members, who burnt the mortal remains in their house next day to suppress evidence.
 

The victim, who was staying with his in-laws post-marriage in another village, had a dispute with his family over property, Singh added.

Yadav's father-in-law Dayaram Yadav had lodged a named FIR against four alleging them murdering his son-in-law.
