According to prosecution, Murugesan's wife was admitted to a private hospital in April 2010 and a few days later she died. He later lodged a police complaint that his wife died due to wrong treatment given by the doctors.
In the postmortem report, it was stated that the woman died due to strangulation.
Police, who conducted an investigation with the help of footages of images and recordings of CCTV camera fitted in the hospital, found that the 30-year-old woman died after Murugasen strangulated her.
He was arrested after registering of a case under section 302 of the IPC.
A Judicial Magistrate court found him guilty and sentenced Murugasen life imprisonment.
