A Sri Lankan lifeguard has been jailed for six months by a Dubai court for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old Indian boy last year, local media reported today.

The 23-year-old lifeguard, identified only by his initials MH, confessed to meeting the boy on May 26 last year in a building in Jumeirah Village.

A Pakistani security guard called police when he found the lifeguard and the boy in a women's toilet.

The man claimed in court that the boy began to ask him about topics of a sexual nature and then asked if he could provide him with pornography.

"I told him I didn't have any and left," MH was quoted as saying. The man said he again met the boy two days later.

"He again started talking to me about sex topics, then suggested that we do a sex act at the women's changing room, therefore we headed there," he added.

The boy's father said MH lured his son into the changing rooms by promising him new sports gear. He claimed that the defendant tried to convince his son to take off his clothes but he refused.

"He told me that the man then started pleasuring himself," the father said.

The lifeguard will be deported after completing his jail term.
