Light rain and thundershowers likely tomorrow: MeT

Overcast conditions prevailed in the national capital today even as humidity level soared to 100 per cent following overnight showers.

According to the Met office, there could be light rains and thundershowers in some parts of the city tomorrow.

"The sky will remain partly cloudy. Light rain and thundershowers could occur in some areas tomorrow," the Met forecast said.

"21.6 mm rainfall was recorded at Safdarjung observatory while the reading at Palam, Ayanagar, Ridge and Lodhi Road observatories were 29.6 mm, 30.7 mm, 17.4 mm and 22.2 mm respectively till 8.30 AM.

"After that, 0.2 mm rainfall was recorded at Ayanagar and traces of rainfall were recorded at Ridge," the weatherman said.
 

The maximum temperature today settled at 34.8 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of year, while the minimum was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, the official said.

The humidity levels oscillated between maximum 100 per cent and minimum 62 per cent.

Tomorrow, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 34 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius, the weatherman added.

Yesterday, the mercury had settled at 35.9 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average while the minimum temperature was recorded at 28.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal.
