Light rainfall in Himachal Pradesh

Light rainfall occurred at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh today, while the weather remained dry in most parts of the state owing to weakening of the monsoon.

Bilaspur, Jubbal, Sundernagar and Bijai received 17 mm, 10 mm, 7 mm and 3 mm of rainfall respectively, while hot and humid conditions prevailed in lower hills.

The minimum temperatures remained steady with Keylong, Kalpa and Manali recording a low of 9.7 degrees Celsius, 10.0 degrees Celsius and 10.4 degrees Celsius respectively, while Shimla and Dharamsala registered minimum temperatures at 15.2 degrees Celsius and 15.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Solan 17.3 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 18.0 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 20.0 degrees Celsius and Una 24.0 degrees Celsius.
 

There was no significant change in day temperatures and Una was hottest in the region with maximum temperature settling at 35.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhuntar 33.0 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 31.8 degrees Celsius, Nahan 29.3 degrees Celsius, Solan 29.0 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 28.6 degrees Celsius, Kalpa 26.0 degrees Celsius and Shimla 25.0 degrees Celsius.

The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the higher hills and rains and thunderstorm in mid-hills over the next six days.
