Light rains in UP; Gorakhpur coldest at 3.4 degrees Celsius

Light to moderate rains today lashed isolated places in western Uttar Pradesh with Agra receiving 1 cm of rainfall.

Rains and thunder showers lashed western UP today, a MeT Department report said.

Gorakhpur was the coldest place in the state with a minimum of 3.4 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, night temperatures appreciably rose in Varanasi, Faizabad, Moradabad, Meerut, Agra divisions.

They also increased in Allahabad, Bareilly, Jhansi divisions and changed little in remaining divisions of the state.

They were appreciably above normal in Agra, Meerut divisions, markedly below normal in Gorakhpur division, appreciably below normal in Varanasi division and were normal in the remaining divisions of the state.
 

The MeT department has forecast rains or thundershowers would occur over eastern and western parts of the state.
