Light rains keep heat in check in Delhi

A cloud cover and intermittent light rains today kept the mercury in check in the national capital.

The Safdarjung Observatory gauged 14.6 mm of rainfall till 8.30 am and 1.7 mm of precipitation between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm, said a MeT department official.

The Palam and Lodhi Road areas recorded 6.4 and 0.8 mm of rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm. The Ridge area also got traces of rainfall.

The city had a high of 33.4 degrees Celsius and a low of 26.5 degrees Celsius.

The weatherman has predicted overcast conditions, thunder and lightning tomorrow.
