Light rains today lashed several places in Punjab and Haryana even as minimum temperatures remained above normal in the most parts of both the states.
Union territory Chandigarh recorded a minimum of 14.5 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal. The city received 2.4 mm of rainfall, a MeT department official said.
Ambala, Hisar and Karnal in Haryana recorded minimums at 14.6, 15 and 14 degrees Celsius respectively, up to two notches above normal. They received rainfall of 5 mm, 1 mm and 1.5 mm respectively, the official said.

In Punjab, Amritsar's minimum was 9.6 degrees Celsius and it received 0.4 mm of rainfall.
While Ludhiana and Patiala recorded lows at 14.7 and 14.0 degrees Celsius respectively, up to three notches above normal. Rainfall in Patiala was 5.6 mm, he said.
