Lightning kills two, showers drench eastern UP

Two persons were killed when they were struck by lightning in Uttar Pradesh where rain drenched several parts of state today.
One person each died in Jalaun and Etah districts when they were struck by bolts of lightning, officials said here.
The eastern region remained generally dry while several areas in western part of the state received moderate showers, the MeT office said.
Gautam Bhuddha Nagar received two cms of rain while Sikkanderabad, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Bagpat, Budhana and Nakur one cm each.
Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Allahabad, Moradabad, Agra, Jhansi, Faizabad, Kanpur, Lucknow and Bareilly, the Met office said.
 
The lowest minimum temperature of seven degrees Celsius was recorded in Etawah, it said forecasting thundersqualls and hailstorms at some places in the state tomorrow.
