Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Friday said the Patna High Court quashing Bihar government's April 5 notification banning liquor, was (akin to) a stay on a tyrannical decision by the Nitish Kumar government.

In a statement, Das said taking such decisions were wrong without drumming up public opinion and making the people aware.

Alleging that the Bihar government had been harassing people in the name of banning alcohol, Das said decisions taken without thinking or understanding, face such consequences.

Earlier in the day, the Patna High Court quashed the notification, saying it was ultra vires to the Constitution.
