Liquor license will be given to selected tourist lodges in Mizoram once the newly legislated Mizoram Liquor Prohibition and Control Act, 2014 replaces the Mizoram Liquor Total Prohibition Act, 1995, an official statement today said.
The statement said the issue was discussed in the meeting convened by Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla and attended by state tourism minister John Rotluangliana and top officials of the department.
The meeting also decided to set up Tourist Information Centres in Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati along with setting up of district offices in some districts having potential for attracting tourists.
