Acting on a tip-off, a special team headed by Deputy Superintendent of police Chandan Jha was formed and conducted a raid in the liquor den of Munna Ghosh at Dhatikidih today, the police said.
A vehicle laden with large quantity of foreign liquor of branded company and beer was seized.
Besides 25 cartoons of foreign liquor, police also seized several pouch of illicit liquor, large quantity of chits related to illegal lottery, the police said.
Ghosh, however, managed to escape.
In an another incident, police arrested six persons involved in running illegal lottery trade in the same locality last night, the police said.
