Ahead of the Lok Sabha poll, the Static Surveillance Team (SST) has seized 15 cartons of Indian-made foreign liquor valued at Rs 50,000 during routine checking at Borka in Kamrup district on Sunday night.

According to the SST, one Shyamal Baro of Helecha village near Rangia was carrying the cartons in his personal vehicle without any valid document.

He could not offer a proper explanation for the cartons that were found in his vehicle, the SST said.

The SST apprehended Baro and handed him over to Kamalpur Police.
