Liquor worth Rs 10 lakh seized in UP

A person was arrested for allegedly selling liquor manufactured in Haryana and recovered 125 such cartons worth Rs 10 lakh from a shop here, police said today.

Acting on a tip off, the police raided a shop in Dhumari village under Jaithera police station yesterday and recovered 125 boxes of liquor worth Rs 10 lakh, they said.

Accused Hari Om, a resident of Dhumari village under Dehat Etah kotwail, was arrested in this connection, they said, adding a case has been registered.

A few others, who were allegedly involved in liquor trade, managed to escape, police said, adding the matter is under investigation.
