Actress Liv Tyler is heading to TV for the first time to star opposite Jennifer Aniston's fiance Justin Theroux in an adaptation of the 2011 novel The Leftovers.

The actress will reportedly play a woman targeted by a cult in the small-screen version of Tom Perrotta's book, about suburban residents left behind when the biblical Rapture prophecy is fulfilled and millions of people are whisked off to heaven, reported Daily Star.

Theroux has signed up to play a police chief in the HBO pilot, alongside Christopher Eccleston, Ann Dowd and Amanda Mason Warren.
