A live mortar shell was found in a village along the International Border (IB) in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir that was later diffused by the Border Security Force (BSF).
One 82 mm live mortar shell was found by Mohinder Kumar lying in his fields in the Challarian village in Samba district yesterday, after which he informed the nearby BSF post about the bomb, a police spokesman said.
He said the BSF reached the spot and later diffused the bomb safely.
"It seems that the mortar shell had reached the fields after being fired from the Pakistani side, during the last week's ceasefire violation," he said.
