An LJP member from Bihar today alleged in the Lok Sabha that foundation stone laid by her for a project under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) was demolished and wanted action, prompting Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to say that she will look into the matter.

Veena Devi, a first-time MP from Munger, said she had laid the foundation stone on November 21 and the very next day it was demolished.

She demanded sacking of the officials who had carried out the demolition.

While raising this, she alleged that there was "jungle raj" in Bihar and the government is terrorising its opponents.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy said the matter was "very serious", particularly as it concerned a woman MP.

He requested the Speaker to give relevant directions.

Mahajan said she may send the complaint in writing which will then be sent to the ministry concerned.

The Speaker said she will seek a report from the state government.

M B Rajesh (CPI-M) said similar cases take place in his home state of Kerala also.

Rahul Shewale (Shiv Sena) raised the issue of removal of name and quotation of Veer Savarkar in Andaman prison and wanted it to be restored.

Ashwini Kumar Choubey (BJP) talked about the problems caused by tobacco intake and wanted prohibition all over the country, just like the ban in some states.
