"The Congress-NC Coordination Committee had taken notice of the urgency of holding panchayat elections at the block level, elections to the four seats of legislative council from panchayats and holding of elections to the local bodies and these elections would be held as early as possible", JKPCC Chief Saifuddin soz told a public rally Agrora area in outskirts of Jammu city.

Accompanied by AICC Secretary Abdul Mannan Ansari and other leaders, he said these issues were debated in the coordination committee meeting and decesions were finalised.

Soz said they have taken note of the demands of the refugees and displaced persons of various categories, ex-Servicemen, farmers and people living on the border area and near LOC and these problems would be solved on the principle of justice and equity.

The Congress party has taken up these demands at the level of Prime Minister, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Home Minister S K Shinde recently and urged for early solution to theses issues, he said.

Addressing the gathering AICC Secretary Abdul Mannan Ansari lashed out at the BJP for continued disruption of the parliamentary proceedings.

He said that BJP is shying away from discussing issues in the parliament which shows their weakness and lack of faith in the democratic system.

Earlier, Member Parliament MP Madan Lal Sharma raised various issues of the refugees of West Pakistan and displaced persons of 1947, 1965 and 1971 and demanded time bound solution of their problems.

Responding to demands of Nagrota Constituency, Soz assured the people that setting up of a Degree College and Construction of Dhannu and Suua roads would be ensured by Congress party at the earliest.
