A district leader of Pakistan's religious party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) was killed today after his car was attacked by unidentified gunmen in the restive Khyber-Pakhtunhwa province.
Maulana Sher Alam Farooqi, 55, was gunned down in Tor Gundai area by armed men when he was in his car outside his residence in Hangu district.
Farooqi died on the spot and his body was shifted to a local hospital for an autopsy, the Dawn reported.

JUI-F provincial chief Maulana Gul Naseeb condemned the killing and called for an inquiry into the attack.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam is a religious conservative political bloc in Pakistan. It has three different political parties. Its influential bloc is JUI-F, which is led by veteran politician and cleric Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman.
