Local SP leader killed in firing over property dispute

Muhammad Rashid, vice-president of party's city unit, died on the spot in the exchange of firing between two brothers -- Momin and Tahir, and their supporters, during the clash over possession of a shop, police said.

Four others, including the 13-year old daughter of Momin, was also injured in the firing.

The fight broke out between the two brothers after Tahir from Faisalabad locality, along with Rashid had gone to take possession of a shop, which he had sold to Momin.

"After having sold his shop to his brother Momin for Rs 6 lakh, Tahir started demanding more money for the same," said SSP Gulab Singh.

 

"Tahir sought the help of Rashid in the matter and they went armed this morning to take possession of the disputed shop when the clash took place," he said.
