As the local train, which was on its way to Shakur Basti Delhi, passed the Dadri railway station, one of the coaches derailed, officials said.
The injured passengers were rushed to Dadri hospital where their condition was stated to be stale stable.
Rail traffic on Kanpur to Delhi route was affected for a few hours, they said.
