Residents of Mandi Adampur area of the district today took out a protest, demanding immediate arrest of the persons accused of killing a district council member.
The shopkeepers in area shut down their shops and raised slogans. They along with other people also gheraoed the Adampur police station.
Police assured them that murder case was being thoroughly investigated and several teams have been formed to hunt down the killers.
The council member Ishwar Bagla's body was found near railways godown yesterday. Railway Police have registered a case under Section 302 (murder) against unknown persons.
