Trucks coming to Azadpur mandi, the biggest fruit and vegetable wholesale market of Delhi, will be issued passes for their smooth movement amid a lockdown across the country in view of the coronavirus outbreak, an official said on Tuesday.
The decision was taken following complaints that vehicles carrying vegetables and fruits were being stopped at border points of Delhi, he said.
Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee has issued a helpline number -- 011-27401001.
APMC (Azadpur) Chairman Adil Ahmad Khan said around 1,200 passes were issued on Tuesday to ensure smooth movement of vehicles carrying fruits and vegetables in other states as well as in the national capital.
In the wake of coronavirus pandemic, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday had announced a lockdown in the national capital.
