Lodged in jail, ex-transport minister hospitalised after chest

Former Haryana Transport Minister OP Jain, who is lodged in the Ambala Central Jail in a case of abatement of suicide, was today admitted to PGI Chandigarh after he complained of chest pain this evening.

The minister was first brought to the civil hospital at Ambala City after he complained of chest pain and was later referred to PGI Chandigarh.

Jain was feeling uncomfortable following pain in the chest and his sugar was also very high, said Dr H Majoomdaar who attended to the former minister at the civil hospital.

An ECG was also conducted and it was almost normal, Majoomdaar added.
 

According to information, Jain complained of minor chest pain in the jail around 7 PM.

The jail authorities immediately referred him to the civil hospital.

After primary examination, the doctors sent him to Chandigarh. Jain was sent to PGI hospital in ambulance.
