Lok Ayukta police unearth illegal assets worth Rs 24 cr

Lokayukta police today unearthed illegal assets worth Rs 24 crore during raids conducted at 42 premises of government servants across Karnataka.

Based on the credible information collected by Lokayukta police officers, source reports were generated against thirteen government servants, for alleged possession of assets disproportionate to their known sources of income, Lokayukta Police said.

It said criminal cases under Prevention of Corruption Act were registered against the government servants.

Raids were conducted in Bangalore city, Bangalore Rural, Bellary, Chamarajanagar, Chitradurga, Dharwad, Hospet, Mandya, Mysore, Ramanagara, Shimoga and Tumkur, it said in a release.

It also said that the bank accounts and lockers of the employees were being scrutinised, and further investigation was in progress.
