Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat today said a Lokayukta would soon be appointed in the state.
After chairing the first meeting with members of the selection committee for a Lokayukta today, Rawat told reporters that Justice Irshad Hussain has been named as the fifth member of the panel and its next meeting will be held soon.
Apart from Rawat, Speaker of Uttarakhand Assembly Govind Singh Kunjwal, Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Ajay Bhatt, Justice of Uttarakhand High Court V K Bisht and Chief Secretary Shatrughna Singh took part in today's meeting.

He had said that the next meeting of the selection committee will be held immediately after Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court K M Joseph gives his approval for initiating the process for appointment of a Lokayukta in the state.
