The Lokayuta police today conducted searches at the residences of a senior official of the Ujjain Municipal Corporation and unearthed alleged disproportionate assets, an official said.
Based on a complaint, the raids were conducted at the residences of UMC additional commissioner Ravindra Kumar Jain in Indore and Ujjain.
"We unearthed properties worth over Rs two crore from the premises," Ujjain Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Gitesh Garg told PTI.
Jain had joined the service in 1983 and so far earned nearly Rs one crore from his known sources of income, he said.
However, the searches revealed that he has properties and assets worth over Rs 2 crore, Garg said.
During the searches, the Lokayukta police found that Jain owned a flat, a three-storey hostel and a commercial space in Indore, he said.

Besides, cash worth around Rs 3 lakh was recovered from his residences and the Lokayukta police also got information about 10 bank accounts of his family members, Garg said.
An investigation was on to ascertain the exact value of Jain's properties and assets, he added.
