Maharashtra Social Justice and Special Assistance Minister Shivajirao Moghe presented the Sahitya Ratna Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Award 2014-15 to 25 people and six organisations at a function held today afternoon at the Kalidas Kala Mandir auditorium.
Cash worth Rs 25,000, mementoes and citations were presented to 25 people, while cash worth Rs 50,000, mementoes and citations were presented to six organisations.
Maharashtra Public Works Development Minister Chhagan Bhujbal and others were present at the award ceremony to mark Loksahir Annabhau Sathe's birth anniversary, which is observed today.
Speaking at the function, Social Justice Minister Shivajirao Moghe lauded the role of the late folk singer Annabhau Sathe, his contribution to the Samyukta Maharashtra movement.
