The hit London stage adaptation of George Orwell's novel "1984" is all set to come to Broadway.

The book that has suddenly become a bestseller post-Donald Trump's presidency to the US will be translated into a production backed by "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" producer Sonia Friedman and Scott Rudin, reported Variety.

The show is co-adapted and directed by Robert Icke. It earned rave reviews in the UK in the year 2014.

The New York production is lined up for a summer run at the Hudson Theater.

Interestingly, the 2017-18 Broadway season will be opened by the play.

While the start date for previews is yet to be determined, the show will open on June 22.
