Singer Lorde has thanked her fans for "believing in female musicians" in a touching newspaper advertisement.
The singer put out a full-page thank you note in the New Zealand Herald following her loss at the male-dominated Grammy Awards, reported Entertainment Weekly.
"I just wanted to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for loving Melodrama the way you did. My nomination belongs to you," wrote Lorde, whose LP lost the Album of the Year trophy to Bruno Mars' '24K Magic'.

The 21-year-old singer also paid tributes to the other nominated artistes, like SZA and Stevie Nicks, as well as several other talents from New Zealand.
Lorde was the only female Album of the Year nominee on Grammys and her note recognised that as it ended with, "Thank you, also, for believing in female musicians. You set a wonderful precedent."
Kendrick Lamar, JAY-Z, Childish Gambino, and Mars were also nominated in the same category.
