Singer Demi Lovato has been tapped to voice Smurfette, replacing pop star Katy Perry, who got the role in the previous two films.

The new Smurf movie, "Get Smurfy", has revealed the voice cast along with the synopsis, release date, and first image from the upcoming animated film. The announcement was made to celebrate Global Smurfs Day on Sunday, June 14, reported Aceshowbiz.

Unlike the previous films, which were a mix of live action and computer animation, this new one directed by Kelly Asbury will be fully computer-animated reboot.

"The continued popularity of the Smurfs is unmistakable, and this new outing will return them to the fully animated world that launched them," the director said.

The new film will follow Smurfette and her fellow blue creatures as they search the Enchanted Forest for the fabled Smurfs village. It will answer some long-held questions about the Smurfs, including why there's only one girl among them.

Rainn Wilson and Mandy Patinkin also join the voice cast as villainous Gargamel and Papa Smurf respectively.
