Two lovers from different castes committed suicide by hanging themselves in Surana village of Muradnagar, police said.
Satyaveer (23) was in a relationship with Rupa (19), SHO Muradnagar Raj Kumar Yadav.
The family members of the girl got her engaged with another boy on Saturday.
After the decision, the girl went to Satyaveer's house where both of them hanged themselves from ceiling fan hooks.
Two suicide notes were recovered from the spot in which both of them had mentioned that they are taking the extreme step as they can't marry each other due to caste taboos.
Bodies have been sent for postmortem.
No case has been registered, Yadav said.
