A couple allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a moving train after their families disapproved of their relationship, police said here today.
Anil (20), a student of B.Tech in Ludhiana, along with Puja (17), committed suicide after their parents opposed their relationship as they both belonged to different castes, Government Railway Police Incharge, Randhir Singh said here.
Singh said the driver of a goods train noticed the bodies lying near the track this morning after which he informed the railway police.
After identification and conducting the post-mortem examination of the bodies at a civil hospital in Hisar, the bodies were handed over to the kin.
A case has been registered and investigations are in progress, police said.
