A low pressure formed over Bay of Bengal today is likely to trigger rain and thundershower in some places over coastal Odisha, MeT office said here.
Under the influence of upper air cyclonic circulation over east Sri Lanka Coast and neighbourhood, the low pressure area has formed over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast this morning, the meteorological centre said.
The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to 3.6 km above mean sea level. The system would become more marked during next 48 hours, it said.
Under its influence, rain and thundershower would occur at one or two places over Coastal Odisha, the met office added.
