Lower court judgements in TN henceforth in Tamil: Acting CJ

: The Acting Chief Justice of Madras High Court Rajesh Kumar Agarwal today assured agitating advocates that all judgements of lower courts in the state would henceforth be rendered only in Tamil, following which they gave up their three day stir.

This would be done while deleting the provision(a recommendation made by Justice Swami commission)that judgments could be given in English also, he said.

Earlier a tense situation prevailed at the premises of the Madurai Bench as law college students tried to barge in to support the agitation. Thirteen of them were arrested for blocking traffic in front of the court and 25 others while they were on their way to demonstrate outside the High Court
 

Police did not allow reporters also inside the court on the orders of the court registrar Udhayan.
