Lower hills of Himchal Pradesh today reeled under a scorching sun with Una sizzling at 42.6 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal.
The sky remained partially overcast and local MeT office has predicted rains or snow at isolated places in higher hills and rains or thunderstorm at some places in lower and mid hills over next five days.
The maximum temperature rose to 38.8 degrees Celsius at Kangra, followed by Sundernagar 37.9 degrees Celsius, Nahan and Bhuntar 36.0 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 33.4 degrees Celsius, Solan 33.2 degrees Celsius, Shimla 28.1 degrees Celsius, Manali 26.0 degrees Celsius and Kalpa 24.2 degrees Celsius, three to five degree above normal.
The nights were warmer throughout the state and Nahan and Una recorded minimum temperatures at 24.0 degrees Celsius and 22.0 degrees Celsius respectively, two and five degree above normal, while Palampur and Shimla recorded a low of 19.5 degrees Celsius and 18.5 degrees Celsius respectively, followed by Solan and Sundernagar 17.5 degrees Celsius each, Dharamsala 14.8 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 12.6 degrees Celsius, Kalpa 8.6 degrees Celsius, Manali 8.0 degrees Celsius and Keylong 5.6 degrees Celsius.
