Lower stretches of Himachal continue to simmer

Even as day temperatures dropped marginally in several parts.

Una in Shivalik foothills remained hottest with maximum temperature at 43.3 deg C while it stayed at 38.7 deg C and 37.8 deg C at Sundernagar and Bhuntar against 41.4 deg C and 38.8 deg C yesterday.

Dharamsala recorded a high of 37.2 deg C, followed by Nahan and Solan 35.4 deg C and Kalpa 27.0 deg C, six deg C above normal.

The state capital Shimla recorded a high of 28.8 deg C and the minimum temperature remained at 20.2 deg C, 4.8 deg C above normal.

Dharamsala was hottest during the night with 27.6 deg C, followed by Una 27.2 deg C, Mandi 26 deg C, Sundernagar and Nahan 25.2 deg C and Palampur 24.5 deg C, four to seven deg C above normal.

 

The local MeT office has predicted dry weather during next 48 days with no appreciable change in Mercury.
