Pargat Singh, an authorised agent of Moonak Indane Gas Service, was sentenced to six months imprisonment for not obeying earlier orders to give new LPG connection to complainant Krishna Dev.

A fine of Rs 10,000 was imposed on him.

Forum President S D Sharma observed in a ten-page detailed order that Moonak Indane Gas Service had failed to comply with the orders of State Commission dated July 5, 2012, and the District Forum dated October 17, 2011.

The Forum also observed that there was a willful and intentional disobedience of the orders.

In an earlier order, District Forum and State Commission had asked the LPG distributor to give a new connection to Dev.

However, Dev contended before the Forum that the distributor of Indane Gas Service was delaying in releasing LPG connection on one pretext or the other despite orders to give him a new connection.
